Solar fencing

A solar electric fence is a perimeter deterrent that runs entirely on its own power. A solar panel charges a battery, an energiser converts that into a short, high-voltage, low-current pulse, and that pulse runs along galvanised wires around the boundary.

The shock is deliberately uncomfortable rather than dangerous. Because the pulse is very short and the current strictly limited, a compliant fence deters people and animals without causing injury — which is what makes it suitable for farms and unmanned sites.

  • Runs without mains power — ideal for field boundaries and remote perimeters.
  • Pulsed output from a certified energiser, not a continuous live conductor.
  • Alarm and monitoring options that signal a line break or tamper attempt.
  • Galvanised wire and insulators selected for the local atmosphere and span length.
  • Battery backup so the fence stays live through cloudy days and overnight.

Where solar fencing earns its place

Agricultural Land

Protecting standing crops and orchards from cattle and wildlife along boundaries where no mains supply exists.

Industrial Perimeters

Factories, yards and warehouses needing a visible deterrent along the boundary in addition to walls or existing fencing.

Substations & Utilities

Unmanned electrical and utility installations where intrusion is a genuine safety risk.

Livestock Management

Keeping animals contained within defined grazing areas without permanent heavy fencing.

Solar Plant Security

Perimeter protection for ground-mounted solar plants, which are typically remote and unattended.

Farmhouses & Estates

Boundary security for properties on the edge of cultivated land or forest.

Installation and compliance

Solar fencing must be installed with correct earthing, warning signage at required intervals and a compliant energiser. We survey the boundary, design the layout and install accordingly — local rules on perimeter electrification should be confirmed for your site.
